Shengzhi is a human-computer interaction (HCI) researcher who studies technology design for older adults, advised by Professor Beth Kolko and Professor Sean Munson. He is interested in learning how technology influences older adults’ social connectedness and their support networks, as well as how social and familial contexts shape their technology use and adoption in return. Specifically, my research focuses on how communication technologies and Internet of Things (IoT) smart home technologies the aging experience.
Shengzhi has an M.S. in Human Centered Design and Engineering from the University of Washington and a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of California San Diego. He was previously affiliated with ReCODE Health and the UCSD Design Lab.
